2014 Cannes Film Festival: Ruben Östlund’s Force Majeure

Date:

With previous screenwriting-directing gigs in The Guitar Mongoloid (04), Un Certain Regard selected Involuntary (08), and the Directors’ Fortnight selected Play (11), it is with Force Majeure (aka Turist), that Swede Ruben Östlund celebrates his first decade in filmmaking. Starring Johannes Bah Kuhnke, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Clara Wettergren, Vincent Wettergren, Kristofer Hivju, Fanni Metelius and Brady Corbet, his fourth foray was rewarded with a Special Jury Prize at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and would land at major film festivals such as TIFF prior to bing released theatrically by Magnolia Pictures (October 24th). Here is the premiere night presentation of the film and post-screening applause.
