Eric Lavallée is the founder, CEO, editor-in-chief, film journalist, and critic at IONCINEMA.com, established in 2000. A regular at Sundance, Cannes, and Venice, Eric holds a BFA in film studies from the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema. In 2013, he served on the narrative competition jury at the SXSW Film Festival. He was an associate producer on Mark Jackson’s "This Teacher" (2018 LA Film Festival, 2018 BFI London). He is a Golden Globes Voter, member of the ICS (International Cinephile Society), FIPRESCI and AQCC (Association québécoise des critiques de cinéma).

Film in Pictures: Agnes Kocsis’ Adrienn Pal

While Bela Tarr won't be ready with The Turin Horse, Hungary will be well represented by Kornel Mundruczó in the Main Comp and in the Un certain regard section next month we'll find Agnes Kocsis' second feature film. The Hungarian-Dutch-Austrian-French coproduction will be her second time in Cannes as she came to the festival in 2006 with her first feature, Friss levegö (Fresh Air) , which was her graduation film.

Final Cannes Changes: Jia Zhang Ke and Pablo Trapero in UCR, Mondruczo in Main Comp

The final changes are in for the make-up of the 2010 edition of Cannes and as expected Kornél Mondruczó's latest which now goes by the complete title of Tender Son - The Frankestein Project has been included in the main comp and Wang Xiaoshuaï's Chongqing Blues which was entered in the Un Certain Regard section has been bumped up by one. This would mean there are only 18 titles in total, which is two less from last year's total, and four less from the previous year.
