Eric Lavallée is the founder, CEO, editor-in-chief, film journalist, and critic at IONCINEMA.com, established in 2000. A regular at Sundance, Cannes, and Venice, Eric holds a BFA in film studies from the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema. In 2013, he served on the narrative competition jury at the SXSW Film Festival. He was an associate producer on Mark Jackson’s "This Teacher" (2018 LA Film Festival, 2018 BFI London). He is a Golden Globes Voter, member of the ICS (International Cinephile Society), FIPRESCI and AQCC (Association québécoise des critiques de cinéma).

I was charmed by Chomet's work in Triplets of Belleville and I'm even more charmed by the world that Tati created. Mon Oncle is easily in my top 100 films of all time.

How will Iñárritu fare without Guillermo Arriaga? I'm guessing he'll be more than fine (track record is impeccable). Javier Bardem is on board and so is DP Rodrigo Prieto.

We aren't as lucky as Esquire who already got to see the pic and called it the "most important movie of this year". We've waited patiently, had time to read the book and consider the following stats: we are huge fans of The Proposition (2005) and loved the book to film translation of Cormac McCarthy's No Country for Old Men.
