2012 Cannes Film Festival Predictions: Jesper Ganslandt’s Blondie

Date:

Gist: Mothers and musicals, Blondie is about a family where the three adult sisters (Alexandra Dahlstrom, Helena af Sandeberg, Carolina Gynning) move home with their mother (Marie Goranzon), once again experiencing sibling rivalry and feelings of hate and love. No word yet on whether or not Heart of Glass will appear on the soundtrack.

Prediction: So far Ganslandt has been a Fall festival kind of guy; his films The Ape and Farewell Falkenberg both had dual Venice/TIFF berths in their respective release years, so one could imagine that the same will be true for this newest film. Should the film be finished in time, though, Ganslandt may want to attempt a step up the ladder with a showing in the Fortnight.
