2013 Cannes Film Festival Predictions: Cattet & Forzani’s The Strange Color of Your Body’s Tears

Date:

#94. Cattet & Forzani’s The Strange Color of Your Body’s Tears

Gist: A man’s wife disappears in Brussels under strange circumstances and is determined to investigate, and that’s about all we know so far of the sophomore feature from filmmaking team Helene Cattet and Bruno Forzani, the duo behind the segment “O is for Orgasm” in The ABCs of Death, and their giallo inspired debut, 2009’s Amer. If you thought their first film (and its glorious poster) was an homage to giallo, title, photo stills and plot details have this one sounding like an Antonioni-ennui assault on the senses.

Prediction: We’re predicting a possible Directors’ Fortnight slot for this Belgian duo, which released its first production stills only last month. A film they cite as nine years in the making, if it’s anything like their debut, we can expect an unsettling and eerie feature with extravagant visual schemes and an exquisite sound design.
