2024 Sundance Film Festival Predictions: Michael Angarano’s Sacramento

Date:

Avenues (2017) filmmaker Michael Angarano is obviously best known for an actor career that has spanned two-plus decades (and most recently seen in Oppenheimer) but his sophomore feature checks off some boxes for the type of hapless comedy that could fit into Park City. Starring Angarano and Michael Cera in the leads plus Kristen Stewart and Maya Erskine, production on Sacramento in Sacramento took place last spring and it should be close to finishing in post. Angarano co-wrote the script with Chris Smith.

Gist: Rickey and Glenn take an impromptu road trip from Los Angeles to Sacramento.

Production Co./Producers: Michael Angarano, Chris Smith, Bee-Hive Production’s Stephen Braun, The Wonder Company’s Eric B. Fleischman and Chris Abernathy.

Prediction: Premieres.

Sales: TBD.
