Gist: Taking place in the during the 1990s, this is about a high-school teacher named Anton who lives in a provincial town. His dream is to emigrate to the United States.
Worth Noting: The Columbia University grad saw his debut film play well on the film fest circuit — was released domestically via Film Movement folks.
Do We Care?: We dug his debut — a raw, rather bleak portrait of disenfranchised youth. We look forward to his sophomore film which will drop sometime this year.
