Zero Gravity: Katherine Waterston Floats Over to Mahalia Belo’s “The End We Start From”

Date:

After lassoing Jodie Comer to topline, Mahalia Belo‘s feature film debut will also include some major talent in Katherine Waterston. Deadline reports that Waterston we hear will play the character of ‘O’. The End We Start From is set in London and is based on the Megan Hunter novel. Producers include SunnyMarch’s Leah Clarke and Adam Ackland, Hera Pictures’ Liza Marshall with Sophie Hunter and Amy Jackson. We imagine production will soon start.

Set amid an environmental crisis that sees London submerged by flood waters, the feminist survival story focuses on a young family torn apart in the chaos. Jodie Comer will play a mother who with her new-born child tries to find a way home, navigating the most challenging and apocalyptic start to motherhood.

We met Belo at Sundance almost decade back when her thesis, short film Volume was selected in the short comp. Since then she has mostly directed television. This is her long awaited feature debut.
