Trey Edward Shults, Pippa Bianco & Celia Rowlson-Hall In Filmmaker Mag’s 25 New Faces of 2015

Date:

Easily my favorite film magazine issue so much so, I’ll revisit certain them several years down the road. Hot off the presses Filmmaker Magazine have highlighted the future of film with their 25 New Faces of 2015 and while the majority of the names are headscratcher unknowns there are indeed some folk being pointed out who’ve already made their presence known.

He has every reason to bring out his pearly whites, topping the list, we have Trey Edward Shults, who saw his feature debut, Krisha won the SXSW Grand Jury and Audience Awards at SXSW and then received an invite at Cannes. The A24 folks grabbed his debut film, as well as his eventual sophomore film, It Comes at Night. Sort of in the same trajectory, Pippa Bianco who won in SXSW for her short Share, then surfed onto the Croisette winning the top prize in Cannes’ Cinefondation section. Another person with a future so bright that is worth the mention is Celia Rowlson-hall. Her feature project Ma was featured on Kickstarter and appears to be prep mode for an eventual film fest showing.
