Cannes 2009: Spring Fever defies odds to Grab Best Screenplay

I can assure you that Lou Ye’s seriously problematic screenplay was far from everyone’s minds for this category.

I can assure you that Lou Ye’s latest offering was not the odds on favorite for best screenplay. In fact, the film has a couple of loose ends, enough for it to have been one of the least favorite films from the Main Comp category. Spring Fever is a tale about a young threesome overcome with erotic longings, and with this award the jury of nine officially confirm that this is not a popularity contest decision.
