A Toronto Film Festival-selected documentary will be receiving a longer lease on life. Heavy Metal in Baghdad has been picked up for North America by Arts Alliance America. Look for the doc to get a theatrical release in the spring, with an obvious DVD release right after.

Directed by Eddy Morretti, this follows the Iraqi metal band Acrassicauda (Latin for “black scorpion”) from the fall of Saddam Hussein to the present.
