Inarritu deems Bardem to be the most ‘Biutiful’

Not surprisingly, after having A-listers Sean Penn and Brad Pitt topline his previous pictures, the studio backed project has secured the most in-demand, Oscar-winning international actor in the biz today. After dropping out from Rob Marshall’s Nine, Javier Bardem will be prominently featured in the crime drama entitled Biutiful (pronunciation of “beautiful”).

Details are mum on the project, but the one line synopsis tells us that this is about a man embroiled in shady dealings who is confronted by a childhood friend, now a policeman. Apparently little-known newbie Argentinean actress Maricel Álvarez will board the project and Rodrigo Prieto is the DOP.
