There is no way that NYC will go the route of Sao Paulo, so a grouping of NYC artists took back the walls, slabs of concrete and whatnot to remind us to be concerned, free-thinking individuals rather than consumerists. I’d be the last to defend a billion dollar corp.’s tactics in a culturally bankrupt North America, but I’m on the fence when pundits claim that advertising as no value, on the rare occasion they offer more than good eye candy, Gondry comes to mind but I do agree that there is this overwhelming sense that too much space has been devoted to shoving messages down our throats.
