Oren Moverman makes Ben Foster into ‘The Messenger’

Date:

In a marketplace full of unwanted war-themed films, there can’t be a bigger risk than going into such a hostile territory, and yet producers Mark Gordon and Lawrence Inglee (of Mark Gordon Co.) and Zach Miller and Ben Goldhirsh of Reason
Pictures are backing Oren Moverman‘s directorial debut. Truth is Moverman is a fine screenwriter with I’m Not There, Married Life and dating back all the way to Jesus’s Son, but the good news is his The Messenger happens to be a damn fine script.

Playing one of the lead two significant roles, is Ben Foster who was insanely great in Alpha Dog, with this homeland set picture, he will play a young Army officer who is forced to work with a
partner he can’t stand in the least desirable job in the military. His
life becomes even more complicated when he falls in love with a
soldier’s widow.

An April film shoot is set.
