Sundance Deal: Paramount Vantage picks on ‘Teen’ docu

Date:

The bidding war for a non-fiction film at Sundance this year will effectively be the biggest docu-itemed price tag to move and in the same measure was the docu film that garnered the most interest. Having balked at (what the trades say) the over 2 million dollar price tag means that Paramount Vantage are the only ones left remaining. Nanette Burstein’s American Teen had SPC and Searchlight swarming the nest for world rights.

Written by Burstein (co-director of The Kid Stays in the Picture), this is an irreverent, frank account
of four Indiana high school seniors and their various cliques at the school,
including a popular group of girls known as the Quad and a group of guys who go
by the name of Badger Dogs.

For those with a Facebook account – you can check out the ‘cast of characters’ on the facebook website.
