The Gist: Written by Jaime Marques and Nico Casariego, this is the story of two young children, separated by a thousand miles across half a continent, caught up in the same nightmare that is fast becoming horrifyingly real.

Selling Point/Suited For: I haven’t done the box office math, but citing Guillermo del Toro’s contributions as filmmaker in the genre, modern day Spanish produced horror thrillers work well – especially those that have a duel timeline and where the recognizable lead is Clive Owen speaking in his mother tongue. Universal Pictures Int. holds the rights — but they might be looking to keep the title, throw it under the Focus banner or survey the interest from highiest bidders. Juan Carlos Fresnadillo has a proven reputation in delivering the goods, so this won’t be a bargain find for the potential suitor.
