TIFF 2011 Buyer’s Club: #9. Jennifer Westfeldt’s Friends With Kids

Date:

#9. Friends with Kids
The Gist: Scripted by Jennifer Westfeldt, this is about “a pair of thirtysomething best friends who observe the toll that having kids has taken on the couples they know and resolve to bypass that stress by having a child and then date other people.”

Director: Jennifer Westfeldt (Actress Westfeldt’s directing debut)
Sales Agent: Cinetic
Selling Point/Suited For: 30-something rom com with a known ensemble (Kristen Wiig, Megan Fox, Jon Hamm, Chris O’Dowd and Maya Rudolph) might be considered a Bridesmaids reunion – as this features plenty of folks from the Paul Feig comedy – which is a terrific upside if you consider the box office draw of the May release title. Depending on the production quality of the film – this could garner interest from major studio heads.
