Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2008: #6 Tree of Life

Date:

#6. Tree of Life

Director/Writer:
Terrence Malick
Producers: Sarah Green, Grant Hill, William Pohlad and Donald Rosenfeld
Distributor: Currently Seeking Distribution

The Gist: Hey…if you have an idea let me know. So far we know that it is a complex drama that will see Sean Penn in the lead role and Ledger is replaced by Brad Pitt.

Fact: Emmanuel Lubezki who lensed The New World is the cinematographer on this film.

See It: Now an impressive 5th project in Malick’s distinguished filmmaking career.

Release Date/Status?: Set to shoot in Texas between March 3 and May 28, there is a 1 percent chance that this would be finished in time for a 2008 release. However, if it were to be released I would say a Rome Film Festival world premiere is possible.
