At this year's Hot Docs, perhaps the most important festival in the world documentary circuit was where Yael Hersonski's "A Film Unfinished" claimed the Best International Feature award. The film revolves around a Nazi propaganda film that was recently discovered. Back in the ghetto, the Nazis staged a fake documentary with the participation of the Jewish residents of the ghetto, trying to deceive the world, showing them all is well.

I'm dubbing Casino Jack & The United States of Money as a marathon-telethon, Jack Abramoff's track record of greed and raising money (greed is something that we also saw in the Enron doc) spans back a couple of presidents and is so extensive that Gibney takes 120 minutes to reveal the blueprint.

Usually reserved for the bigger films and Oscar buzz titles, the Galas and Special Presentations section in Toronto should be populated with: the long awaited thriller from Richard Kelly (The Box), Julie Taymor's The Tempest starring Helen Mirren and coincidentally it would make sense for her hubby Taylor Hackford to bring Love Ranch for show. Part of the Canadian contingency, Jason Reitman has confirmed it himself that he'll bring Up in the Air and perhaps a spot would be reserved for Jean-Marc Vallee's Berlin preemed The Young Victoria.
