2010 Oscar Noms: Apologies to Michael Stuhlbarg, Bright Star, Fantastic Mr.Fox and Tilda

The noms are in folks (see full list below) and apart from the love that The Blind Side has received (the backlash has officially began around 9 eastern this morning), there are very little surprises -- which only means status quo on films and people that officially received the cold shoulder months ago.

2010 Spirit Award Noms: Precious and The Last Station Grab 5 Noms each

The film which received no love at the Gothams tied for 1st in total amount of noms with Telluride's The Last Station (Michael Hoffman). Lee Daniel's Precious received noms in the Best Feature, Director, First Screenplay, Best Femle Lead and the most logical nomination and most deserving of them all: Best Supporting Female.

Art of the Movie Poster #3: The Messenger

After learning the ins-and-outs of running a grassroots marketing campaigns in their inaugural year of operations, Oscilloscope Laboratories are certainly poised to support the troops that are the make up The Messenger, which opens this Friday. Saint John of Las Vegas Heading for a Fall Release

Saint John of Las Vegas received its festival debut in...you guessed it. I'm not sure how it faired as the opening film for CineVegas, but I'm a fan of the casting line-up (Steve Buscemi, Sarah Silverman and Peter Dinklage which trickles down to a wheelchair-bound stripper (Emmanuelle Chriqui), a nude militant (Tim Blake Nelson), a park Ranger (Jesse Garcia), and a carnival human torch (John Cho). The film is pegged to receive a Fall release, several months after we forget about The Hangover.
