#14. Inside Llewyn Davis

Director/Writer: Joel and Ethan Coen
Producers: Coen Bros. and Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men and True Grit)
Distributor: Rights Available.

The Gist: Based on the life of musician Dave van Ronk (played by Oscar Isaac) and van Ronk’s memoir, “The Mayor of MacDougal Street” this is about a singer-songwriter who navigates New York’s folk music scene (Greenwich Village) during the 1960s…(more)

Cast: Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, John Goodman and Oscar Isaac.

List Worthy Reasons…: Coens’ working on a musical biopic? We’re in. In the mean time, we’ll be checking out van Ronk’s career (listen here) and watching companion film, I’m Not There.

Release Date/Status?: Knowing that the Coens bros. are all business when it comes to shooting, their rapid fire execution and an early production date could equate to a 2012 with a year-end showing and potential award buzz for Oscar Isaac. We certainly hope so.
