Samuel Goldwyn and Sony Join ‘Old Fashioned Orgy’

Date:

Announcing the deal right before the Berlin Film Fest, Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions and Samuel Goldwyn Films have will distribute the co-directed debut from television writing pair of Pete Huyck and Alex Gregory. Featuring a cast that includes Jason Sudeikis, Tyler Labine, Leslie Bibb, Will Forte, Lucy Punch, Lake Bell, Michelle Borth, Martin Starr, Nick Kroll, Lindsay Sloane and David Koechner, A Good Old Fashioned Orgy will be pegged with a summer release. This should be Samuel Goldwyn’s major money-maker title for the 2011 campaign.

The Gist: This follows a 30-year-old man (Sudeikis) who is forced to grow up when his parents decide to sell the family vacation home and the friends agree there is only one way to have the biggest and brashest send off party, a good old fashioned orgy. Sloane will play a high school teacher who has found religion and is trying to get her friends to go to Bible study but ends up going to the orgy.

Worth Noting: The directing pair wrote for Letterman, “King of the Hill,” “Frasier,” “The Larry Sanders Show”.

Do We Care?: We’ve got one foot out when SNL cast members are onboard, so this one is really going to have to go against the grain in terms of structure and tone for us to be more willing to assist in an orgy.
