A package offering two leading ladies with what could be considered very different sex appeals and a popular French actor in Guillaume Canet who made a very quick appearance and directed this summer’s foreign film arthouse title that could in Tell No One, is perhaps enough to convince Miramax films to plunk down on a cool four million for the multiple territory rights to writer Massy Tadjedin‘s directorial debut. Variety reports that the rom drama Last Night will most likely be distributed by the specialty division in North America, the U.K., Australia/New Zealand, Latin America, Brazil and South Africa. As reported last month, the project is currently in production.
Scripted by Tadjedin, the film revolves around a married couple (Keira Knightley and Sam Worthington) separated for a night when the husband takes a business trip with a colleague he desires (Eva Mendes). While he’s away, his wife encounters her past love (Canet).
