They call him Mr. Baum-tastic!

Date:

Being severely traumatized as a kid after such events by the likes of “Moby
Dick”, “20, 000 Leagues Under the Sea”, and “crashing
in the water during an ice-fishing trip with my dad”, I steered clear of
The Squid and the Whale when it hit theatres. That was until I found
out it had nothing to do with either squids and/or whales (although I still voraciously
devour calamari in restaurants as part of my therapy). I still haven’t seen
the film, but writer-director Noah Baumbach is in the works for a follow-up to
his semi- autobiographical tale.

His new untitled project has its sights set on Nicole Kidman and Baumbach’s
wife, Jennifer Jason-Leigh, who would play sisters in the film. He will be re-teaming
with Scott Rudin, with whom he worked on “The Life Aquatic with Steve
Zissou”, which he also co-wrote with Wes Anderson.
