Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2013: #55. Untitled Nicole Holofcener Comedy

Director/Writer: Nicole Holofcener
Producer(s): Likely Story’s Anthony Bregman
U.S. Distributor: Fox Searchlight Pictures
Cast: Catherine Keener, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, James Gandolfini, Toni Collette, Rob Mayes, Ben Falcone, Michaela Watkins, Eve Hewson

Recently moonlighting as a television director in between feature film gigs,we’ve been following the course that Nicole Holofcener has charted for herself since 1996’s Walking and Talking. Endearing, honest and flawed characters is where Holofcener’s min interest lies – and this manage a quatre comedy certainly abides by those rules. Catherine Keener is of course once again on board, but so is Julia Louis-Dreyfus in a rare film showing.

Gist: This focuses on Eva (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) who finds the strength to put her divorce behind her when she meets the strong-willed Marianne (Catherine Keener). As a result, Eva starts dating a new man (James Gandolfini) only to discover that he’s Marianne’s ex-husband.

Release Date: With no mention for the Sundance Film Festival – Fox Searchlight might wait until a Telluride type date and then hit theaters with a fall release.
