Michael Chernus to Have Good Table Manners in Joshua Marston Project

We’re not allergic to television, but for us Orange is the New Black’s Michael Chernus truly broke out at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, with the girlfriend stealer role in Jim Strouse’s People Places Things and as the generous giver and toker in Noah Baumbach’s Mistress America. THR reports that he is one of the last pegs in the Parts and Labor produced project from filmmaker Joshua Marston. The mostly indie actor joins the already cast supporting players Danny Glover, Kathy Bates and Azita Ghanizada. As previously reported, Rachel Weisz and Michael Shannon are toplining the project.

Gist: This tells the tale of an intriguing guest introduced at a dinner party hosted by Tom (Shannon) and his wife (Ghanizada). Celebrating his birthday, Tom has been grappling with a decision about whether or not to follow his wife, who has been accepted to a graduate program, to a new state. Tom increasingly believes he knows Alice (Weisz) but by a different name and a different biography, and suspects that she’s not there entirely by coincidence. The evening spins into a highly-charged reunion between a man in need of making a change in his life and a woman who desperately wants to stop changing.

Worth Noting: Chernus will next be seen in Jason Bateman’s The Family Fang and Cameron Crowe’s Aloha.

Do We Care?: Possibly in the same vein as The Dinner, Herman Koch’s novel where personal growth can occur during one table sitting, we are looking forward to this psychologically twisty buffet.
