Video Interview: Debra Granik (Winter’s Bone)

Winter Bone opens in theaters today to rave reviews – with most of them stemming back to it's Sundance premiere back in January, which was the lieu of where I got to sit down with the film's helmer. Debra Granik sort of experienced the same critical reception with her debut film, a solid addiction drama in Down to the Bone (04)...

Soko Joins Virginie Despentes’ Bye Bye Blondie

SoKo - the singer (she opened for M.I.A in 07') and actress who was nominated for a César Award for her role in Xavier Giannoli's A l'origine, is the final piece added to Virginie Despentes' sophomore pic which will begin lensing at the end of this month in Paris and other whereabouts in France. Rob Lemkin's and Thet Sambath's Enemies of the People - is a cold hard look into the past, more specifically a portrait of those involved in the Khmer Rouge genocide.

Spicey Elena Anaya Added to Almodovar’s La Piel Que Habito

Move over Penelope. It's now Spanish actress Elena Anaya's time to shine. The beautiful Spaniard who got her big break alongside Paz Vega in Julio Medem's Sex and Lucia will actually be re-teaming with Pedro Almodovar on La piel que habito - which is set to begin filming in August and will obviously be ready for a huge premiere at Cannes next year.
