Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2010: David Michod’s Animal Kingdom

I'd strongly suggest for cinephiles to check out David Michôd's previous short film work, you'll get a sense of where Australian cinema is headed. The skilled helmer knows how to use his tool belt, and watching the trailer for Animal Kingdom is like melting chocolate for a fondue - you gain calories just from the visuals.

Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2010: Joann Sfar’s Serge Gainsbourg, vie heroique

I'd be weary of such a nostalgic trip that covers mostly headline items of an artist's life, but graphic novelist Joann Sfar might bring a different sensibility and hopefully attempt to match the originality of the artist. The interesting cast begins with Eric Elmosnino - the spitting image of Gainsbourg and sadly, a posthumous perf from Lucy Gordon.

Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2010: Victoria Mahoney’s Yelling to the Sky

Workshopped at the Sundance labs, Mahoney's intimate portrait appears to belong to the Raising Victor Vargas or Half Nelson type. Count me for this indie debut.

Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2010: Alex Gibney’s Casino Jack & The United States of Money

Along with Morris, Burns and Pennebaker, Gibney is easily one of the best working documentarians around and when he takes on headline items such as torture practices and an engaging dissection of what the boys at Enron were up to.

Farmiga and Monaghan Tap into Jones’ ‘Source’

According to the folks at ThePlayList and ScriptShadow, Source Code (a top fifteen script on the 2007 list, which I figure I should get my hands on) is a time-traveling film that doesn't suck. I guess we can start hyping Duncan Jones' follow up to his much appreciated debut film Moon, as a top tier, anticipated project to look out for in Summit Entertainment's 2011 campaign. With Jake Gyllenhaal already on board, THR reports that Vera Farmiga is in negotiations and Michelle Monaghan is set star in the pic which begins filming this March, in Montreal.
