Oscilloscope Laboratories plans on Making an ‘Impact’
Oscilloscope have been making huge strides at becoming the home for socially relevant and socially responsible documentary films: just in the last three months they've released The Garden, Burma VJ and Unmistaken Child. Now the New York based distributer have added one more Sundance Film Festival doc title to their slate with plans to open Laura Gabbert and Justin Schein's No Impact Man: The Documentary on September 4th.

Slim pickings this Tuesday (June 9th 2009) as there are only a trio of titles worth recommending. Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace & Music Director's Cut is a fully equipped edition of the Michael Wadleigh documentary film, a great father's day present that curiously comes out before Ang Lee's Taking Woodstock and not sometime in August when Woodstock took place.
Kiarostami’s ‘Certified Copy’ Gets Certified Start
Certified Copy suffered from multiple false starts, but after three years of nonsense it appears that Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami has his two feet on Italian soil making this his first film outside his home. Filming begins today in Italy's Cortona, Lucignano and Arezzo in Tuscany.
No More Mulling Over Radford’s La Mula
With more coin invested in the film, Michael Radford (most recently directed William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice and Flawless) is finally receiving the greenlight for his Spanish Civil War comedy. Shooting officially begins on August 31st in Andalusia with Maria Valverde .
A Silver Screen Future for God of Carnage?
No one made any preemptive bids for the play beforehand, but yesterday's win could alter (for the better) the chances of seeing God of Carnage onto the big screen. Perhaps with Christopher Hampton attached to translate the piece to script form and possibly direct?
