Interview: Alex Gibney (Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God)

Date:

A crime story that spans decades, takes place on multiple continents and sees the most noble of authority figures involved in a vast cover-up. This isn’t an Agatha Christie novel, but perhaps the largest cover up job in the history of the Catholic church. This is about the abuse of power and empowerment of the brave victims who seek justice. I sat down with director Alex Gibney to discuss the making of Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God – how he found, researched and tackled the subject matter. Interview was conducted during TIFF 2012.
