Wizards!

In his short, quartet feature film filmography David Michôd has given us a garden variety. His fifth feature in Wizards! is no different. Wizards! went into production around (see set pics) August of 2022 in native Queensland, Australia with the likes of Pete Davidson, Franz Rogowski, Naomi Scott, Orlando Bloom and Sean Harris (who makes it two for two with Michôd). An A24 project, based on a story by Joel Edgerton and Michôd, this feels like something in the line of Harmony Korine cinema – comedy, idiots plus guns. Plan B Entertainment’s Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner produced with Liz Watts. Michôd has gifted us masterwork Animal Kingdom (2010), The Rover (2014), War Machine (2017) and The King (2019).

Gist: Two hapless pothead beach-bar operators played by Davidson and Rogowski, who run into trouble when they stumble across stolen loot that they really should have just left alone.

Release Date/Prediction: We see this as template SXSW offering.
