Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2013: #69. Lynn Shelton’s Touchy Feely

Date:

Touchy Feely

Director/Writer: Lynn Shelton
Producer: Steven Schardt
U.S. Distributor: Rights Available
Cast: Ellen Page, Rosemarie DeWitt, Allison Janney, Scoot McNairy, Ron Livingston, Josh Pais

If the perfectly titled Touchy Feely hits its mark with the same accuracy as Your Sister’s Sister did in terms of likeable, flawed, multidimensional, complex set of characters, perfectly structured three-act with climatic denouement and naturalistic yummy dialogue, then I’ll regret having placed Lynn Shelton’s name further down the most anticipated list. After imperfect, humble beginnings, Seattle’s Best might be ready to cross over into television/broader comedy projects.

Gist: A massage therapist is unable to do her job when stricken with a mysterious and sudden aversion to bodily contact. Meanwhile, her uptight brother’s foundering dental practice receives new life when clients seek out his healing touch.

Release Date: U.S Dramatic Competition – Sundance Film Festival. A theatrical rights deal should be put into place hours after its premiere.
