2022 Sundance Film Festival Predictions: Ti West’s X

A filmmaker more synonymous with the horror genre (he did however try out Western), and a regular on the film festival circuit mostly South by Southwest Film Festival berths but off the grid as well with a showing of his 2013 film The Sacrement at the Venice Film Festival. After shooting several TV series projects over the last couple of years, for his return and tenth trip out (we’re including his pair of short film anthologies in this number) Ti West began filming on his apropos film entitled X in February this year. Starring Mia Goth, Kid Cudi, Jenna Ortega and Brittany Snow, the project was filmed in New Zealand which passes for Texas. This is an A24 project.

Gist: At a secluded farmhouse in Texas, a film crew arrives to shoot an adult film. Their hosts, a reclusive elderly couple, take a special interest in their young guests. As night falls the couple’s leering interest turns violent.

Production Co./Producers: Jacob Jaffke, Ashley Levinson, Sam Levinson, Kevin Turen.

Prediction: PREMIERES.

U.S. Distributor: A24.
