The Gist: This is about a blue-collar dad (Michael Shannon) doesn’t know whether his nightmares are premonitions or a warning sign of mental illness.….(more)

Cast: Katy Mixon, Michael Shannon, Shea Whigham, Kathy Baker and Jessica Chastain

List Worthy Reasons…Jeff Nichols’ Shotgun Stories (2008), a tension-filled, slow-cooker drama which counts as one of Michael Shannon’s best screen perfs. So now we have this talented filmmaker once again teaming with Shannon, we have an indie film with a burst of special effects with Sundance saying that Nichols “create(s) a haunting tale that will creep under your skin and expose your darkest fears.”

Release Date/Status?: Receiving U.S Dramatic Competition premiere in Sundance, this might hit Berlin as well (same location where Shotgun Stories was shown). Expect this to be quickly picked-up by serious indie-minded studio looking to push Shannon’s performance during award season.
