2012 Sundance Predictions: Katie Aselton’s Black Rock

With filming wrapped up in July, Katie Aselton can expect to be welcomed with open arms from the festival that showcased her directing debut in 2009’s The Freebie. Shot in Maine, Black Rock is described as a Deliverance cast with girls (Lake Bell and Kate Bosworth) this thriller would be perfectly suited for a Park City at Midnight showing.

Aselton with hubby/writer Mark Duplass got some serious coin via Kickstarter – here is their fun plea.

Gist: Written by Mark Duplass, the film chronicles three childhood friends who embark on a weekend getaway to the isolated island of Black Rock, only to discover that they are not alone.
