A ‘Weezer’ fronts for Lou Reed

Date:

Remember Weezer? Neither do I, but new reports announced that members of the band are set to portray The Velvet Underground in Factory Girl, the Edie Sedgwick biopic, with Brian Bell playing Lou Reed and Patrick Wilson as John Cale. Now I am miles away from being the biggest “Wee-zer” fan in the world, there was that one time in college when I was cruising down West on the T-Can in my ’92 Mazda Protégé at 140 km/h, casually turning the radio dial when I unfortunately ended up on one of their songs. Needless to say I’ve never met such an accommodating bunch of cops and firefighters, god bless the Jaws of Life. Next time I’ll stick to the soothing sounds of shrieking static, if I ever have the balls to get behind a wheel again, that is. I obviously had to sell my car for parts and ultimately dropped out of college. I can only imagine Lou feels the same.

Interview: Marjane Satrapi & Vincent Paronnaud – Persepolis

The distinctive mole on her nose and her dark sultry eyes rose off the page and appeared in front of me, smoking and speaking with a French accent.
