ATO Not Insecure about Azazel Jacobs’ ‘Terri’

Date:

After making George Hickenlooper’s Casino Jack their first pick up (it occurred right before it showed at TIFF), ATO Pictures have made their second “preemptive” buy, grabbing Azazel Jacobs’ Terri while the film is currently in post. A probable selection for next year’s Sundance edition, the quirky, dark indie comedy pairs John C. Reilly and Jacob Wysocki. Jacobs’ last feature Momma’s Man, was a Park City selection that would get picked up by Kino Int.

Written by novelist Patrick deWitt, set in a small town, this tells the story of a socially awkward and overweight teenage boy (Wysocki) who befriends a well-meaning high school Vice Principal (Reilly), who has his own share of insecurities.

Commenting on the deal, Jacobs mentioned that “‘Terri’ is a story for anyone who’s ever had issues in high school. Anyone who ever felt alone, misunderstood, or miscast, which, in my mind at least, applies to all of us.
