Christine Jeffs Feels ‘Wonderful Tonight’

Date:

Going from darker to what appears to be lighter material, helmer Christine Jeffs is following up features of a tortured writer, and a pair of sisters torturing themselves to the torture of having one in the oven. Wonderful Tonight is either a romantic drama or a rom com that sounds awfully close to the premise of Knocked Up. Variety reports that Jeffs has signed onto direct for Castle Rock Entertainment (Michael Clayton, Did You Hear About the Morgans?).

Scripted by J. Mills Goodloe (Pride), the film chronicles the relationship between a confirmed bachelor and a young woman, after their one-nighter leads to an unplanned pregnancy and a surprising love affair. Castle Rock’s Martin Shafer and Liz Glotzer will produce.

Vulnerable women seem to be Jeff’s specialty as witnessed first hand with Gwyneth Paltrow (Sylvia), Amy Adams and Emily Blunt (Sunshine Cleaning). The next batch of news should be the hiring of the co-leads and hopefully the lieu of this misadventure. Is a re-teaming with one of these actresses possible?
