Day 4: Live from Cannes: Jim Jarmusch and the Golden Carosse

So before they presented the screening for Tony Manero, the pre-planned award of the The Golden Coach (Le Carosse d’Or) was to be given out to Jim Jarmusch. Having a big ass camera means that the many “check points” before going into screenings (in the main comp and Un Certain Regard films) provides me with very little results – I’m forced to drop it off in a coat check. Thankfully, the films that play out at the Director’s Fortnight afford me a different outcome. , Down by Law and Broken Flowers gave a nice speech which made reference to the events of 1968 and which quoted the likes of Oscar Wilde, Aki Kaurismäki and finally words of wisdom from Tilda Swinton. Here are a couple of pictures that I took.
