First Look places ‘August’ one month before

Date:

Here’s a film that emulates the film festival market in which it came from. Austin Chick who last focused on the deconstruction of couplehood in XX/XY , followed up with a dot-com drama August and as the Sundance story goes (as it has for many) went nowhere in terms of being bought…until now. THR reports that in a post-post Sundance deal, First Look Studios has picked up with the picture with the idea of releasing it in mid July.

Based on the screenplay by Chick and Howard Rodman, the story revolves
around two brothers who try to keep their startup financial company
afloat on Wall Street a month before the Sept. 11 attacks. Hartnett
will play one of the brothers. Naomie Harris, Adam Scott, Robin Tunney, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Rip Torn and David Bowie also star.
