French duo ready to ‘raise’ some ‘Hell’ for Dimension

Date:

The 00's are the new 80's. Worse than the remake, is the new trend of re-starting a franchise by giving a new paint job to 1980's matieral. Certainly not immune to the unoriginal practice, the horror genre is now going down the same route that comic book fair has already found profit in.

Variety reports that Dimension Films is bringing back the due with the pins in his head. Helming Hellraiser are the French filmmakers who gave us the gory Euro Cannes entry Inside (À l'intérieur) a film that should see theaters in early 08 under The Weinstein Co. label.

Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo will write and direct  the project – based on the original film that revolved around a couple who move into an old house inhabited by the man's eviscerated half-brother, who escaped hellish torture from the Cenobites but returned shorn of his skin. The Cenobites, who are triggered by a Rubik's Cube-like puzzle device that unlocks the gates of hell, would like another meeting with the man.
