Hartnett likes Chick’s ‘August’

Date:

We won’t need much pondering further down in the film history timeline to comprehend why the post-9/11 theme was a pivotal inspiration for NYC narratives – but what about pre-9/11? Today THR announces that the first-time filmmaker who gave us the 02’ Sundance hit XX/XY (that indie Mark Ruffalo film), has cast Josh Hartnett and Naomie Harris in lead roles.

Written by Austin Chick (pictured above) and Howard Rodman (Savage Grace), Austin will direct the feature that tells the story of two brothers who try to keep their startup financial company afloat on Wall Street a month before the Sept. 11 attacks. Hartnett will play one of the brothers. Harris will be the female lead.

Entitled August, production shall commence in April in New York and is being financed by Union Square and 57th & Irving. Hartnett is producing along with Charlie Corwin (“Half Nelson”).
