In an effort to expand its US market, French based Gemini Films has teamed up with IFC Films to bring In Paris (Dans Paris) across the pond for American audiences. The film had its world premiere at this years Director’s Fortnight at Cannes and has received good reviews from critics internationally.

The film centers around two brothers sharing an apartment with their father in Paris. Paul
( Romain Duris ) is still reeling from a separation with his longtime girlfriend Anna and moves back home as he sinks into depression. Paul’s brother Jonathan ( Louis Garrel ), a carefree student who spends his time fooling around and womanizing. His carefree follies though hide a deep pain over the lost of their beloved sister.

The film is the fifth to be helmed by Christopher Honore, the novelist, screenwriter, playwright and children’s author. Honore is also known by American audiences for Ma Mere aka My Mother, his 2005 flick based on George Battaille’s controversial, hedonistic novel. The US distribution deal was garnered as part of a package that included the UK (Artificial Eye), Australia (Potential Films), Belgium (Les Films De L’Elysee) Switzerland (Mont Blanc) and Portugal (Atalanta).
