Reitman is into Cody’s ‘Body’

Date:

When a young hip writer met a young hip director as when former stripper Diablo Cody and Jason Reitman did when Juno came to fruition it set in stone what is looking to become a solid collaborative working relationship – the sort where two people use each other's strengths to bring motion pictures to the big screen. The critics are raving mad on the upcoming release of Juno (with good reason) and THR reports that the pair will once again work together this time on Jennifer's Body.

The Fox Atomic label desperately needs some cred and this might just be the kick start that they need. Reitman and producing partner Dan Dubiecki are coming aboard to produce the pic which was just recently picked up in October with Megan Fox on board to star. The project should begin lensing early next year – with Bonzai Shadowhands in the laps of Reitman there is little chance that he comes on board to direct this project.

Described as similar in tone to “Heathers,” this tells the story of a cheerleader who is possessed by a demon and starts feeding off the boys in a Minnesota farming town. Her “plain Jane” best friend must kill her, then escape from a correctional facility to go after the Satan-worshiping rock band responsible for the transformation.
