The Last Circus, a bizarre horror comedy lobbed over a network of historical symbolism, not unlike the works of Carlos Saura or Guillermo Del Toro, happens to be one of the strangest and original pieces of cinema one could hope to see this year. Subtlety is still not a word to describe this film, but it features some elusive implications and images that are eerie and unforgettable.”
