Seth Rogan and Elizabeth Banks have signed on to play the title roles in Kevin Smith's latest- Zack and Miri Make a Porno– in which, ummm…. Zack & Miri make a Porno? Typical for writer/ director Smith, the film will be produced by Harvey & Bob Weinstein for The Weinstein Corp. and Dimension Films. Rogan and Banks previously teamed in The 40 Year Old Virgin.
This sounds like a great pairing. I've always been a Smith fan (although Jersey Girl was unbelievably bad)- and I can definitely picture Rogan playing the lead in one of his comedies. As for Banks, Smith supposedly wrote the role for Rosario Dawson, but she was not to appear in the film due to a scheduling conflict. Banks will probably do quite well as the titular Miri, as she proved in 40 Year Old Virgin that she's a capable comedienne. Also she's quite easy on the eyes…
