On the eve of this weekend’s North American release of The Science of Sleep, I’ve decided to honor the pioneer filmmaker, music video helmer and commercials director who is making a growing number of us envious of his ingenuity and talent. I love how Gondry confronts the film and digital mediums by bending the geometric and scientific rules of the mise-en-scene. He is a whacked out artist who I can’t get enough of – here is a fairly simple airline commercial that charmed the dickens out of me.
