TIFF 2010 Top 10 New Faces: #6. Jake M. Johnson

Date:

#6. Jake M. Johnson – Ceremony

Kudos go to Max Winkler for writing a character that might resemble the classic jerk, but comes across as something slightly different. Every film set within a wedding context always manages to include a wedding drunk — it comes with the territory…but with Ceremony, it would be a mistake to catalogue Jake M. Johnson’s perf and character in the same bunch. With mostly television appearance creds on his c.v, Johnson gives this supporting character a little bit of soul and the stinky breath. Those who have seen Paper Heart already know the actor (hence the pic above) and in the time being, he has been scooping parts in Get Him to the Greek, Ivan Reitman’s No Strings and indie comedy Blake Calhoun’s Spilt Milk.
