#30. Untitled Mark Jackson Drama

Director/Writer: Mark Jackson

The Gist: This is about a war photographer who is stationed in Sicily after covering the war in Libya. …(more)

Cast: Expect a female lead to be announced shortly.

List Worthy Reasons…: In our interview with the filmmaker, Jackson described this as an “emotional sequel” to his debut, which we classify as a one of 2011’s best American indie filmmaker feature film debuts. Without generated the kind of critical buzz at the beginning of the year that helped the push it past the midway point, adding top tier fall film festival invites and nominations from both the Gotham and Indie Spirit awards.

Release Date/Status?: The probabilities of this making a splash in Italy’s premium fest (Paolo Baratta’s Venice Film Festival) are extremely slim as the production is planned for March of this year, but such variables as size, scope and the tech crew behind the production could get this ready for back to back festival years.
