No, this news brief isn’t about the latest paparazzi pics exposing Philip
Seymour Hoffman jubilating in his backyard to the latest Destiny’s Child
single while eating a hoagie in less than 3 bites, sorry about the confusion and/or
for misleading you. If you have a few minutes to spare however, it is about the
latest and greatest short films that the Sundance Film Festival has to offer its
adoring public this year. I’m jumping ahead of myself because I have yet
to watch any of these, but I’m sure they’re fantastic… but don’t
take my word for it. I’m a little if-ish when it comes to shorts lately,
if only because I’m always highly disappointed when I get dragged to these
festivals boasting the cream of the crop in all films short. I pay good money

the at-the-moment short to run its already never-ending-not-so-short-as-advertised
course, whichever comes first. But I’m sure these kick all kinds of ass.
So if you’re jealous of our fearless leader Eric, who is at this very moment
schmoozing and hob-knobbing with D-list celebrities and coke-addicts, here is
the next best thing. If you’re disappointed in any and all of these, look
up any of Don Hertzfeldt’s animated shorts, which have made Sundance appearances
in the past, but not this year. Boo.

Check ‘em out here.

UPDATE: I’ve just watched ‘The Pity Card’ by Bob Odenkirk

Chrissy Seaver is all grown up, and she brought friends. I don’t feel
so ashamed now for pausing “Growing Pains” all those years. Plus,
learn how to cure ringworm with a coffee enema.
